From 2007 onwards Blackpool has a series of events planned for the following three years. On September 14th - 15th 2007, International Beach Volleyball will take place at St Chads Headland on the new redeveloped Promenade, with top European teams competing. This televised event will be the first time in Britain that the finals of a Beach Volleyball tournament has been held under floodlights. With the illuminations being on at the same time this should be quite spectacular. The event will be staged at a 1,000 seat stadium with over 200 tons of beach sand transported to the headland for the beach court. Free tickets will be available from 1st September.

Blackpool Air Display "Flying machines have been wowing the Blackpool crowds ever since the early 1900's when the resort staged one of the countries first air shows. Keeping the tradition alive today, top aviators including the world famous red arrows regularly visit the resort packing the promenade with their skillful aerobatics."
